    Supercomputer, mainframe computer, Mini Computer, Micro Computer and Mobile Computers are the main categories under which computers can be classified.

CLASSIFICATION OF COMPUTERS. 

Computers can be classified as general purpose computers, specific purpose computers or super computer systems . 

     General purpose computers compute a range of tasks but lack super speed and efficiency. the purpose of computers in the category might differ from another.

Example are :- 

• Desktop Computer
• Laptops 
• Tablets
• Smartphones.

Specific purpose computers handle a specific problem to task. it uses a high level of accuracy and processing power. 

Example are:-

• Servers
• Embedded Devices. 

     Supercomputers are very expensive, and the applications are for specialised activities or tasks such as weather forecasting. 

It is more computational capability than others.And data processing very fest.

Types of Computing Devices

Desktop Computer:- 

A desktop computer is a personal computer designed for regular use at a single location on or near a desk or table due to its size and power requirements. And it can easily manage hardware and software. 

It is the fastest computers . 

Laptops and Notebooks;-

A laptop PC is a small, compact and portable machine which runs on battery power. You can unfold it and work with it on your lap and hence to name is given to it. it disk drive easily no remove. It can be carried in your suitcase easily. 

A Notebook is a smaller and lighter version of the laptop model.

Tablets:- 

A table PC or simply tablet is a medium sized mobile computer integrated into a float touch screen and primarily using styles, digital pen or fingertip input along with a virtual onscreen keyboard in lieu of a physical keyboard. It is a touch-pad device ( mass storage device ) that has the features and qualities of a smartphone and a laptop. 

Smartphone:-

A Smartphone is a cell phone that allows you to do more than make phone calls and send text messages. Smartphones can browse the Internet and run apps programs like a computer. Smartphones use a touch screen to allow users to interact with them. There are thousands of smartphone apps including that run on the phone. 

Smartphones run on Android operating systems..
